Epiphyte without leaves. Roots strongly flattened, flexuose, 0.4-0.55 cm wide, to more than 30 cm long. Inflorescence densely few- to several-flowered, including the slender peduncle 3 cm long. Floral bracts deltoid, acuminate, much shorter than the ovary. Flowers glabrous, fleshy. Sepals and petals oblong, obtuse, outside obtusely keeled, about equally long, 0.55 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique. Lip in outline elliptic, as long as the sepals, at the apex fleshy, obtuse, below the middle with the margins on either side almost lobe-like dilated, from the middle to the base with a cavity; spur cylindrical, above the middle somewhat widened, slightly laterally flattened, about as long as the lip. Column very short, thick; rostellum very large, hammer-shaped. Anther at the base rounded-cucullate, long rostrate; pollinia obliquely obovoid; stipe twice as long, at the base thin, cucullate-widened towards the apex; viscidium linear, acute at both ends, rather large.
