Epiphyte without leaves. Roots strongly flattened, flexuose, 0.5 cm wide, to more than 40 cm long. Raceme densely few- to many-flowered, including the slender peduncle 2 cm long. Floral bracts deltoid, rather small, much shorter than the ovary. Flowers rather small, glabrous, opening in succession. Sepals oblong, obtuse, keeled outside, 0.5 cm long. Petals obliquely oblong, obtuse, keeled outside, almost as long as the sepals. Lip 3-lobed, as long as the petals; lateral lobes semi-square, obtuse; mid-lobe heart-shaped, fleshy, swollen, distinctly larger than the lateral lobes, with a cuneate concavity at the base of the mid-lobe decurrent on the base of the lip; spur straight, cylindrical, obtuse, a little shorter than the lip. Column very short; rostellum hammer-shaped, large; anther at the base rounded-cucullate, linear, obtuse. Ovary subsessile, glabrous, 0.3 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914)
