Stems rigid, at least 60 cm long (certainly more), leafy. Leaves ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, 18-30 by 3.5-5 cm. Whole plant black when dried. Inflorescences opposite the leaves, 2-flowered, very short. Median sepal 1.5 by 0.2-0.3 cm, ligulate, obtuse, pointed. Lateral sepals linear, broader at the base, slightly broader than the median sepal, obtuse, forming a short rounded and strongly incurved sac. Petals 1-1.2 by 0.15-0.2 cm, linear, a little shorter and narrower than the sepals. Lip 1 by 0.4 cm, entire, deflexed, oblong, acute, at the base narrowed, almost clawed, with two raised lines extending from the base to near the middle, the central part pilose except for the apical third, margins pilose. Column 0.8 cm long, curved, clinandrium with serrulate-dentate margin. Anther with a tall crest. (After Kraenzlin, 1905)
