Type: Schlechter 16810 (holo B, lost; iso AMES, BO, E, K, L, NSW)

Terrestrial, climbing, to 2 m high, branched. Stems and branches terete, glabrous, many-leaved, entirely covered with the tightly clasping leaf-sheaths, flowering branches c. 0.3 cm diam. Leaves erect-patent, narrowly elliptic, acuminate, oblique, 6-9.5 cm long, near the middle 1.5-2.5 cm wide. Inflorescences lateral, 1-3-flowered, short. Floral bracts elliptic, patent, much shorter than the ovary. Flowers erect-patent. Sepals oblong-ligulate, apiculate, glabrous. Median sepal 1.3 cm long. Lateral sepals falcate, a little shorter than the median sepal. Petals linear-falcate, obtuse, glabrous, distinctly shorter than the sepals, c. 1 cm long. Lip elliptic, subobtuse, c. 0.8 cm long, 0.4 cm wide near the middle, above minutely puberulous, with two keels that merge at their base below the middle of the lip. Column semiterete, glabrous, without foot, only a little shorter than the lip; clinandrium dorsally denticulate. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, past anthesis 2.5 cm long, probably at anthesis c. 1.5 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914)


Plant becoming black when dried. Flowers yellowish with very fine red dots, becoming green in the fruiting stage.

Terrestrial in lowland forest; 400 m.
