Synonyms:
Epiphyte, tall, to 50 cm high. Rhizome short. Roots filiform, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs 2-3 cm apart, ovoid, 2-3 cm wide, 1-1.5 cm below the middle; 1-leaved. Leaf erect, ligulate, subobtuse, glabrous, 17-25 by 3-4.5 cm near the middle; base narrowed into a petiole. Inflorescence erect-patent, slender, somewhat rigid, with a few small peduncle-scales, to 50 cm high; raceme distichous, producing many flowers. Floral bracts ovate, subobtuse, two times shorter than the pedicellate ovary. Flowers large, glabrous, opening in succession. Sepals oblong, obtuse, 4-4.3 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, base of the facing margins somewhat dilated. Petals oblique, oblong-ligulate, subobtuse, glabrous, 0.5 cm long. Lip curved, elliptic from a narrower base, obtuse, 4 by c. 1.3 cm above the middle; in basal half sparsely verruculose. Column medium-sized; stelidia very short, tooth-like; column-foot slightly curved. Ovary pedicellate, glabrous, c. 2.2 cm, long. (After Schlechter, 1913)
Median sepal white, lateral sepals reddish, lip with red veins.
Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 450-1200 m.
