Epiphyte, very small, 8-10 cm high. Rhizome short, terete. Roots filiform, elongated, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs close together, subovoid, terete, glabrous, 1-1.3 by 0.4-0.6 cm above the base; 1-leaved. Leaf lanceolate-ligulate, subobtuse, coriaceous, glabrous, 5-8 by 0.8-1.2 cm near the middle; base gradually narrowed, weakly petiolate; top minutely bilobulate. Inflorescences 1-flowered, slender, filiform, terete, glabrous, shorter than the leaves, c. 3 cm long. Floral bracts ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, almost as long as the pedicellate ovary. Flowers large for the section. Sepals lanceolate, narrowed acuminate, glabrous, 1.5 cm long. Median sepal somewhat narrower than the lateral ones. Lateral sepals oblique. Petals obliquely rhomboid-ovate, acuminate; front margin somewhat dilated, subsinuate. Lip large when compared to the petals, fleshy, in outline narrowly lanceolate-tongue-shaped, glabrous, 1.2 by 0.2 cm above the middle; base tridentate, above the base somewhat constricted; apex acuminate; dorsally grooved. Column slender for the genus; base swollen; stelidia subulate, erect, much surpassing the anther; column-foot short. Anther ovate, in front acuminate. Ovary shortly pedicellate, subclavate, glabrous, 0.9 cm long. Fruit oblong, subwinged-3-ribbed, c. 3 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1905)
