Rhizome long creeping, woody (when dried), 0.3 cm thick with numerous roots. Pseudobulbs slender conical or ovate somewhat 4-angled, when dried strongly rugose and curved; 1-leaved. Leaves shortly petiolate, lanceolate, obtuse, to 13 by 2 cm. Inflorescences arising between the pseudobulbs, slender, with minute cataphylls at the base, 1-flowered. Floral bract minutely lanceolate, acute, keeled, much shorter than the curved ovary. Sepals at the base ovate, gradually narrowed, long acuminate to caudate. Median sepal to the apex concave, straight, 7 by 1 cm, incurved. Lateral sepals at the very base connate, not forming a mentum, 5 cm long, half twisted, reflexed; all sepals outside and inside very densely pilose. Petals very small and inconspicuous, aristate. Lip hypochile (?column-foot) very broad, short; epichile curved, as wide as long, channelled, obtuse, in the centre silky hairy. Column at the base dilated. (After Schlechter, 1905)
