Synonyms:

Epiphyte, rather robust, 35-45 cm high. Rhizome short. Roots filiform, flexuose, squamulose-rough-prickly. Pseudobulbs cylindrical, very small; 1-leaved, 1-2 by 0.3-0.5 cm. Leaf erect, elliptic-lanceolate, apiculate, or acute narrowed, glabrous, 30-42 by 4.5-5.5 cm near the middle; base gradually narrowed into the 7-10 cm long petiole. Inflorescence rather laxly 5-10-flowered, erect, with a few small distant peduncle-scales, to 30 cm long. Floral bracts elliptic, apiculate, glabrous, much shorter than the pedicellate ovary. Flowers showy, glabrous. Sepals ovate-oblong, subacute, 2.7 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, up to near the apex with connate margins. Petals obliquely broadly ovate, acute, 0.65 cm long. Lip fleshy, oblong, tongue-shaped, apiculate, 0.8 cm long; margins minutely crenulate-dentate; above in the middle in basal half slightly 2-ribbed. Column thick, short; stelidia subulate, at the based on either side with one tooth. Anther quadrangular-cucullate, glabrous. Ovary slender pedicellate, glabrous, c. 4.5 cm long.
