Robust, creeping epiphyte, 15-20 cm high. Rhizome thick, somewhat flexuose. Roots filiform, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs 2.5-4 cm apart, narrowly conical, quadrangular, 1-leaved, 2.5-3.2 by 0.7-1 cm. Leaves erect, narrowly obovate-oblong, obtuse, ate the base stalk-like narrowed, 6.5-9 by 1.8-2.3 cm. Inflorescence erect, 1-flowered, at the base with a few peduncle-scales, 9-12 cm long. Floral bract cucullate-clasping, much shorter than the ovary. Flower erect. Sepals lanceolate, subobtuse, glabrous, 7 cm long. Median sepal towards the apex keeled outside. Lateral sepals subfalcate-oblique, in the upper half along there inner margins cohering. Petals falcate-oblique, at the base lanceolate-triangular, with a short antenna-like tip, in total 0.6 cm long. Lip curved, at the base rectangular-tongue-shaped, 0.45 cm long, obtuse, underneath with a high keel, inside in the middle with appressed red hairs. Column rather thick, with short bilobed stelidia; column-foot incurved. Ovary with pedicel terete, glabrous, c. 5 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1913)


Flower brownish green with paler spots; lip and column yellowish.

Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 600 m.
