Epiphyte, 40-45 cm high. Rhizome flexuose, slender. Pseudobulbs laxly spaced, cylindrical, to the apex somewhat narrowed, 2-3 by 0.35-0.45 cm below the middle; 1-leaved. Leaf oblong-ligulate, acute, more or less oblique, 14-18 cm long; base narrowed into a short petiole. Inflorescences ultimately rather densely many-flowered, slender, rigid, two times longer than the leaves or more, erect, with few small sheaths, to 45 cm high; raceme gradually elongating, distichous. Floral bracts two-edged, falcate-ovate, acute, hardly shorter than the pedicellate ovary. Flowers large for the section, glabrous. Sepals lanceolate, strongly acuminate, c. 3 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, the base along the front margin dilated forming a short, obtuse, 0.3 cm long mentum with the column-foot. Petals obliquely elliptic, cuspidate, the margins near the apex sublobulate, much smaller than the sepals, 0.4 cm long. Lip in outline oblong-lanceolate, acuminate, 1.9 by 0.55 cm in the middle; the basal third with 2 irregular, crenulate-dentate keels. Column medium size, near anther shortly bicuspidate, 0.45 cm long; column-foot somewhat incurved, short. Ovary shortly pedicellate, slender, glabrous, c. 1 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1923)


Flower sulphur yellow. Lip brown-red with yellow apex.

Epiphyte in forest; 1400-1500 m.

Malesia (New Guinea).
