Epiphyte, spreading, to 25 cm long. Rhizome stem-like, unbranched or very sparsely branched, covered with wide, tightly clasping sheaths. Roots filiform, elongated, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs somewhat appressed to the rhizome, cylindrical, in front slightly compressed, 0.4-0.6 by 0.2 cm near the middle; 1-leaved. Leaf erect, linear-ligulate, apiculate, glabrous, 3-5.5 by 0.4-0.6 cm near the middle; base weakly narrowed into a petiole. Inflorescences 1-flowered, single, near base of the pseudobulbs, very short, 0.5 cm long, covered with a few small peduncle-scales. Floral bracts lanceolate, acute, as long as the ovary. Flower c. 0.7 cm long, erect-patent. Sepals oblong, apiculate, glabrous, 0.4 cm long. Lateral sepals reflexed, somewhat dilated towards the base, oblique. Petals obliquely ligulate, subobtuse, 0.2 cm long; front margin below the apex somewhat dilated. Lip immobile, spathulate-ligulate, obtuse, somewhat fleshy, slightly subverruculose-pustulose, 0.33 cm long. Column medium-sized, for the genus rather slender, somewhat shorter than the petals; stelidia ascending, in front truncate, the upper corner apiculate; column-foot almost absent. Anther ovate-cucullate, glabrous, apiculate, dorsally umbonate. Ovary sessile, cylindrical, glabrous, 0.2 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1913)


Flowers whitish, striped with red. Lip with reddish warts.

Epiphyte in lowland forest; 400 m.
