Basionym: Bulbophyllum cassideum
Lip with the top distinctly curved; adaxially with the ridges at least to 4/5 of the total length of the lip (stretch the lip!), generally almost to the tip. (After Vermeulen, 1993)
As for subsp. orbiculare.
Epiphyte in lowland forest; 300-2300 m.
Malesia (Moluccas, New Guinea).
