Bulbophyllum lyriforme

Type: Jongejan cult. 282 (holo L), from Papua New Guinea, Goroka, Daulo Pass
Synonyms:
(Vegetative parts not seen). Flowers moderately opening. Median sepal slightly recurved with incurved top part, subtriangular, 23-31 by 6-8 mm, index 3.8-4.5; acute, base rather widely attached. Lateral sepals free, recurved, triangular, 22-30 by 8-10 mm, index 2.5-3.4, base widely attached; otherwise as the median sepal. Petals spreading to reflexed, subtriangular, 21-28 by 2.2-4 mm, index 7-10.5; acute, base widely attached. Lip slightly recurved near the base, hastate-lyrate with a drawn-out, linguiform top part, 17-19 by 7-8 mm, index 2.2-2.4 (all without artificial spreading); obtuse, margins slightly concave and then regularly rounded above the base when the lip is observed in lateral view; thin but drawn-out top part thick; adaxially widely concave near the base, flat or slightly convex towards the tip; abaxially with a thin, emarginate ridge over c. 1/5-1/4 of the length of the lip, top part flat. Column 6-8.5 mm long, c. straight in profile, stigma without teeth at the base, column foot with a slight callus just above the ligament. Stelidia porrect, triangular, 1-1.8 mm long, obtuse, without tooth along the lower margin. (After Vermeulen, ms.)
Sepals and petals cream-coloured with red spots, the lateral sepals yellowish and without sots along the lower margins. Lip whitish, stained with red; tip yellow.
