Bulbophyllum longisepalum

Bulbophyllum longisepalum Rolfe, Orchid Rev. 3 (1895) 105

Synonyms:

  • Hyalosema longisepalum (Rolfe) Rolfe, Orchid Rev. 27 (1919) 130

Basionym:

Although the name is valid, this species was never described in any detail. Rolfe only remarked that the plant illustrated by Reichenbach f. in Lindenia 3 (1887) t. 108 as Bulbophyllum grandiflorum Blume differed from the real B. grandiflorum in the longer sepals, and should be given the name B. longisepalum. We agree that it is a distinct species.

Sepals cream-coloured, heavily tessellated with red-purple.

Malesia (New Guinea).

Papua New Guinea.
