Small epiphyte. Roots spreading. Rhizome creeping, c. 0.12 cm diam., sections between pseudobulbs 0.2–0.3 cm long, arising from the basal node of the pseudobulb; rhizome scales thin, withering soon. Pseudobulbs distinct, 0.2–0.3 cm apart, ovoid, 1.2–1.4 by 0.3–0.4 cm, (?)angular. Leaf: petiole 0.3–0.4 cm long; blade elliptic to obovate, 3.0–4.2 by 0.7–0.8 cm, index 4.1–5.8; apex acute. Inflorescences many together on a distinctly elongated, sparsely branched sympodium, 2.3–3.0 cm long, 1-flowered; peduncle 1.0–1.5 cm long, scales 1; floral bracts 0.18–0.23 cm long. Flowers: pedicel and ovary 1–1.2 cm long; basal node 0.08–0.2 cm above the floral bract attachment. Median sepal free, recurved, elliptic, 0.34–0.37 by 0.17–0.18 cm, index 1.8–2.1; margins entire, minutely papillose; apex apiculate; surface glabrous, 3-nerved. Lateral sepals free, recurved, ovate-triangular, 0.34–0.45 by 0.15–0.2 cm, index 2.0–2.3; margins entire, minutely papillose; apex acute to apiculate; surface glabrous. Petals porrect, obovate, 0.16–0.2 by 0.1–0.12 cm, index 1.4–1.7; margins slightly erose, sparsely ciliolate; apex rounded; surface glabrous; 1-nerved. Lip slightly curved, ovate, slightly attenuated in the top half, tapering into a short, oblong apical part, 0.17–0.2 by 0.08–0.11 cm, index 1.8–2.3 (without spreading); margins entire, about glabrous; apex rounded; thick; upper side near the base concave and with two parallel, short, close together situated ridges which are to the top somewhat tapering, to the top slightly convex, upper surface glabrous; underside with a deep median furrow from base to apex bordered by two distinct, rounded, papillose ridges, papillae unequal in length. Column including stelidia c. 0.14 cm long; column foot widened, with patent, obtuse lateral teeth; stigma narrowly obovate; stelidia straight, narrowly triangular, subulate at the top, c. 0.07 cm long, acute; pollinia 4, the inner two more than half as long as the outer.

Bulbophyllum teinodragma J.J.Verm., Schuit. & de Vogel belongs in series B.
Bulbophyllum teinodragma J.J.Verm., Schuit. & de Vogel is identified within section Polymeres by the distinctly elongated fertile sympodia from which inflorescences develop.
Bulbophyllum teinodragma J.J.Verm., Schuit. & de Vogel is most similar to Bulbophyllum melinanthum Schltr, but differs in the obovate petals (versus ovate) which are sparsely ciliolate (versus glabrous to minutely papillose).
