Small epiphyte. Stem internodes short, 0.6- 1.3 cm long. Leaves small, 2.7-3.4 by c. 0.5 cm. lnflorescences few-flowered (1- 7). Flowers large, c. 2.1 cm long; pedicel and ovary short, c. 0.8 cm long; transverse callus of the lip c. 0.42 cm from the lip base and nectary to 0.2 cm from the tip of the mentum.

Flower bright orange to orange-red.

Epiphyte, near the sea. Altitude: low.

New Guinea (endemic).

Indonesia (Papua Barat prov., Biak-Numfor Regency,).

Warm growing epiphyte, keep in shade.

Dendrobium fulgidum Schltr. is distinguished by the short but (for a species of sect. Pedilonum), fairly lax racemes of small, bright orange flowers with a simple, flat, narrow lip.
