Synonyms:
Terrestrial herb. Stem a pseudobulb. Leaves 45- 60 cm long. Inflorescence to 90 cm long, many-flowered. Flowers dense together, 10 cm diam. Sepals and petals lanceolate; apex acuminate. Lip about as long as the petals; hypochile lateral lobes rounded, very short; epichile about orbicular, shortly apiculate, with slightly recurved, undulate margin; spur 1.25 cm long, conical, curved. Column triandrous, on front and back pubescent, with small stigma and pointed column wings.

Terrestrial in swamp vegetation on grey to black sand and peat. Altitude: sea level to 25 m.
