Type: Amsler cult. s.n., from Indonesia, Papua Barat Prov., Bintuni Regency

Synonyms:

Epiphyte. Rhizome creeping. Pseudobulbs crowded, ovoid, 2.5-3 by 0.6-1 cm. Leaf 1 per pseudobulb; petiole short; blade oblong or lanceolate, 8-9 by 1-2 cm, with acute apex. Inflorescence 1-flowered, 9-10 cm long; peduncle 1 cm long, with 2 scale leaves; floral bract c. 0.4 cm long. Flowers 10-10.5 by 1.5-2 cm. Pedicel and ovary 1 cm long. Median sepal ovate, 3-3.2 by 0.6-0.5 cm; outside 3-carinate; margins ciliate with whitish-hyaline hairs; apex acute, long aristate and glabrous. Lateral sepals at the base obliquely broad-ovate, narrowing in an apical aristate top with elongated swollen tip, 7-5 by 2.5 cm; outside 4-carinate; facing margins for half of their length ciliate with whitish-hyaline hairs. Petals with facing margins touching over the column, obliquely ovate, 0.7 by 0.4 cm; claw short; facing margins papillose, not facing margins in the top half papillose; apex apiculate. Lip mobile, 1.2-1.4 cm long; basal part swollen, laterally compressed, in lateral view semi-ovate, above broadly channelled, its upper margins broad with laterally a row of long papillae; terminal appendage straight, long, linear, pointing straight forward, convex. Column rather short; column foot at the apex widened in two swollen lobules, with narrow ligament; stellidia broader at the base, narrowing into slender, slightly curved tips. (after Jenny 2019).
