Synonyms:

Epiphyte, to 40 cm high. Rhizome stout, creeping. Pseudobulbs fairly close together, to 1 cm apart, elongate-pear-shaped, to 4 cm by 1.6 cm; 1-leaved. Leaves fleshy, oblong-elliptic, obtuse, to 28 by 3.5 cm; base shortly petiolate. Inflorescence suberect, then slightly curved, 3-4-flowered, 36-40 cm high. Floral bracts sheathing, appressed, shorter than the inflorescence. Flowers widely open gaping, apart, showy, in bud vertically compressed. Median sepal elliptic, acute, dorsally slightly keeled, 4 by 1.2 cm. Lateral sepals conduplicate, dorsally strongly keeled, 4 by 1 cm. Petals minute, ovate-triangular, 0.5 by 0.25 cm; apex falcate, acuminate. Lip flat, elliptic, 3 by 1 cm; base thickened and with two thin, parallel carunculate or papillose ridges up to 2/3 of the length of the lip; apex rounded; Column thick, as long as the column-foot, 0.5 cm tall; stelidia erect, 2-3-denticulate.
