Dendrobium bobolei Ormerod is similar to D. laceratum Schltr. in the erect lip that has upward pointing lateral lobes and a rather straight mentum, but differs in the thin, leathery, lanceolate leaves (versus grassy, linear), minutely transversely rugulose light brown leaf sheaths (versus smooth, greyish to pale green?), and the twice as broad lateral lobes.
Named after P. Bobole, the collector of the holotype.
