Type: S.P. Lyon SPL 449 (holo LAE, iso L).

Terrestrial herb. Tuberoid not observed. Stem slightly angular, 1–4.6 cm long; basal sheath 1 cm long, with acute, subulate apex. Leaf size and shape highly variable, sessile, cordate to lanceolate with broad cordate base, 1.5–2.9 by 1.2–2 cm, glabrous; base slightly decurrent on stem; auricles typically well-developed; margin undulate or flat; apex acute to obtuse, apiculate; nerves reticulate, with two lateral nerves on either side of midrib, outermost lateral nerves extending about halfway to the apex before anastomosing with inner lateral veins, secondary nerves numerous and running largely parallel to one another. Peduncle less than 0.1 cm long. Floral bract linear-lanceolate, 0.8 cm long, acuminate. Pedicel and ovary cylindrical, 0.55 cm long, ridged. Flower solitary, upright. Median sepal spathulate-oblanceolate, 1.8 by 0.7 cm, glabrous; apex apiculate, slightly keeled; 7-nerved, midnerve slightly crested. Lateral sepals filiform, 1.8 cm long, emerging from behind the spurs. Petals linear, 0.3 cm long. Lip from the tubular basal part opening into a slightly expanded, 0.8 cm wide blade, 1.4 cm long when flattened; blade surface papillose; margins crenulate; opening to floral tube broadly rounded; spurs narrowly conical, 0.25 cm long. Column upright, 0.2 by 0.15 cm; ventral pad 0.1 by 0.15 cm. Fruit not seen.
(after Lyon 2016).

Stem pale green to dark red. Leaf colouration highly variable: pale to medium green, sometimes flushed red below. Peduncle greenish. Floral bract green. Median sepal whitish and finely specked with purple. Lateral sepals and petals whitish, outer surface of lip tube white at base with broad purple streaks beginning about 1/3 of way up tube, these fusing into a broad purple blotch on ventral side, spurs white, inner surface of lip tube marked longitudinally with c. 10 irregular purple stripes, ovary green.

Corybas diversifolius is similar to C. albopurpureus P. Royen, but differis in the lateral sepals which are much longer than the lateral petals, the longer lip tube with the less expanded blade, and the shallower dentation on the margin, while the apex of the median sepal is broader and apiculate.
