Phreatia giluwensis Ormerod, Malesian Orchid J. 13 (2014) 58, fig. 11
Type: R. Schodde 1892 (holo A, isotype BRI).
Synonyms:
Epiphytic herb. Roots terete, 0.04–0.09 cm thick. Stem erect, covered by leaf sheaths, rather densely foliose, 8–15 by 4–1.05 cm across the sheaths. Leaves linear-ligulate, 3–7 by 0.4–0.55 cm; apex obtuse to inequally obtuse, bilobulate. Inflorescence axillary, 9.5–16 cm long; peduncle rather laxly 5–7-sheathed, 4.5–6.6 cm long; sheaths 0.5–1.3 cm long; rachis rather laxly many-flowered, 5–9.4 cm long; floral bracts ovate-lanceolate, to 0.45 cm long; apex acute. Pedicel and ovary clavate, 0.25–0.375 cm long. Median sepal oblong-lanceolate, 0.2 by 0.12 cm; apex subacute. Lateral sepals obliquely ovate, 0.21 by 0.15 cm; apex obtuse to subacute. Petals obliquely oblong-elliptic, 0.18 by 0.095–0.1 cm; apex obtuse to subacute. Lip concave, suborbicular, c. 0.18 by 0.18 cm (including the claw); claw cuneate-subquadrate, 0.03 cm long, with 2 circular glands; apex obtuse; 3-nerved. Column stout, c. 0.08 cm long; anther cap conical, with retuse-emarginate apex, c. 0.075 by 0.08 cm; column foot short, c. 0.02 cm long.

Leaves light green. Floral bracts brown. Flowers white.
On shrubbery and on tree ferns in alpine grassland. Altitude 3050–3625 m.

Phreatia giluwensis is similar to P. sarawaketensis but differs in the suborbicular lip(not broadly elliptic),the cuneate-subquadrate claw of the lip (not transversely rectangular), and the conical anther cap (not broadly umbonate).
