Rhizome woody, a few mm thick. Pseudobulbs far distant, narrowly subcylindrical, 2.5 cm long; 1-leaved. Leaf erect, spathulate, obtuse, coriaceous, 7.5 cm long and wide. Inflorescence 1-flowered, slender, arising some distance from the pseudobulb, with 2-4 terete, membranous apiculate, distant peduncle-scales. Floral bracts widened at the base. Flower rather large, patent. Sepals narrowly linear, widely patent, fleshy, margins to the base pubescent. Median sepal 7.5 cm long. Lateral sepals free, 5 cm long. Petals erect, 7.5 cm long, antenna shaped; base dilated. Lip somewhat fleshy, shortly clawed; blade ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, in the middle with long hairs. Column thick, curved, dorsally rounded; clinandrium with wide, truncate, bidentate teeth, the top acute; column wings curved, broad, thickened, margins prominent. (After Ridley, 1886)
