Type: Schlechter 13985 (holo B, lost; iso BM, K).

Rhizome elongated, to 15 cm long, creeping or patent, roots elongated, filiform, flexuose, glabrous. Pseudobulbs closely spaced, 1-leaved, cylindrical, 4- to 5-angled, 1.5-2.5 by 0.4-0.6 cm, slightly narrowed to the apex. Leaves ligulate to oblong-ligulate, 3-5 by 0.4-0.8 cm, base narrowed to the base, apex emarginate, apiculate. Inflorescences arising in succession from the apex of the pseudobulb, 1-flowered, spathe laterally compressed, soon withering away. Pedicel and ovary 2.5 cm long, ovary clavate, 4-winged above, 2-ribbed below. Flower resupinated, c. 3 cm across. Dorsal sepal ligulate-lanceolate, narrowed above the middle, 1.7 cm long, apex obtuse; glabrous. Lateral sepals obliquely ligulate-lanceolate, much widened to the base, 1.7 cm long, apex obtuse; mentum conical, obtuse, c. 5.5 mm long. Petals obliquely narrowly linear, somewhat narrowed above the middle, c. 1.5 cm long, apex obtuse. Lip narrowly oblong-ligulate, slightly widened above the middle, with two keels that converge in the middle, above the middle with a third keel in between, all keels wavy in upper half of the lip. Column short, glabrous, clinandrium 3-lobulate, the median lobule 3-dentate; column-foot c. 5.5 mm long. Anther subreniform-cucullate, in front truncate, glabrous.

Flowers white with yellow tips; keels of the lip yellow, the lip sometimes with red markings in basal half.

Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 1000-1300 m.

New Guinea (endemic).

Papua New Guinea (Madang Province)

Intermediate growing epiphyte, prefers light position.
