Type: Schlechter 19914 (holo B, lost).

Rhizome very short, roots elongated, filiform, flexuose, glabrous. Stems crowded, erect, slender, terete, soon becoming grooved, 35-70 by 0.3-0.4 cm, with many leaves; unbranched. Leaf sheaths entirely covering the stem. Leaves erect-patent, lanceolate-linear, 6-11 by 0.5-1 cm, apex obtuse, obliquely apiculate, coriaceous. Inflorescences lateral from the apical part of the stem or rarely terminal, racemose, 4 cm long, rather densely 6-10-flowered. Floral bracts ovate-deltoid, much shorter than the pedicel and ovary, apex apiculate. Pedicel and ovary 2 cm long, slender, subclavate, glabrous. Flowers not resupinated, c. 2 cm long. Dorsal sepal elliptic, 0.8 cm long, apex obtuse. Lateral sepals obliquely elliptic, 0.8 cm long, apex obtuse; mentum oblongoid, almost straight, 1.5 cm long, obtuse. Petals obliquely oblong, subspathulate, c. 0.7 cm long, apex obtuse. Lip ligulate, narrowed in the middle, 1.9 by 0.4 cm, in the middle 0.25 cm wide, base with the margins adnate to the column-foot, with a transverse semilunate lamella in basal third, apical margins minutely serrulate, apex subacute. Column short, clinandrium 3-lobulate, the lateral lobules quadrangular, rounded in front, acute at the base, the median very small, tooth-like; column-foot 1.5 cm long, near the apex with an oblong cavity. Anther quadrate-cucullate, in front subretuse and minutely papillose-pubescent.

Flower whitish, mentum and ovary pink.

Epiphyte in hill forest. Altitude 450 m.

New Guinea (endemic).
