Basionym: Dendrobium roseum Schltr.

Rhizome very short, roots elongated, filiform, flexuose, glabrous. Stems crowded, patent to suberect, slender, slightly flexuose, up to 50 cm long, many-leaved, unbranched. Leaf sheaths entirely covering the stem. Leaves patent-erect, linear, 7-11 by 0.3-0.7 cm, apex acute, unequally bilobulate. Inflorescences racemose, short, densely several-flowered. Floral bracts deltoid, minute, much shorter than the pedicel and ovary. Pedicel and ovary 1.5 cm long, slender, glabrous. Flowers resupinated or not, c. 2 cm long. Dorsal sepal broadly elliptic, 0.5 cm long, apex obtuse. Lateral sepals obliquely broadly elliptic, much widened at the base, 0.5 cm long, apex obtuse; mentum conico-cylindrical, c. 1.4 cm long, almost straight, obtuse, in front closed in the lower part. Petals obliquely elliptic-spathulate, 0.5 cm long, apex obtuse. Lip strongly concave, from a narrow base gradually becoming narrowly oblanceolate-ligulate, 1.7 by 0.4 cm, in basal third with a low transverse V-shaped lamella, apical margin pectinate-serrate; apex hood-like, somewhat surpassing the apex of the column. Column short, clinandrium 3-lobulate, the lateral lobules rounded-truncate, the median tooth-like; column-foot linear-ligulate, 1.4 cm long. Anther quadrate-cucullate, in front truncate, glabrous.
