Rhizome very short, roots elongated, filiform, flexuose, glabrous. Stems crowded, erect to patent, unbranched, laterally flattened, 40-50 cm long, many-leaved. Leaf sheaths entirely covering the stem. Leaves erect-patent, linear, 4-8 by 0.3-0.5 cm, apex unequally obtusely bilobulate. Inflorescences arising laterally from the stem, subsessile, 2-flowered, spathe laterally compressed, semiorbicular, obtuse. Pedicel and ovary 0.8 cm long, glabrous. Flowers c. 1 cm across. Dorsal sepal ovate, 0.6 cm long, apex apiculate. Lateral sepals strongly obliquely ovate, much widened at the base, 0.6 cm long, apex apiculate; mentum conical, 0.6 cm long, obtuse. Petals obliquely subspathulate-ligulate, a little shorter than the sepals, apex obtuse. Lip 3-lobed in apical third, 0.9 by 0.25 cm, with a median keel extending to near the apex; lateral lobes horizontal, porrect, incurved over the midlobe, obliquely oblong, apex obtuse; midlobe large, suborbicular, apex emarginate, broadly apiculate. Column short, clinandrium 3-lobulate, the lateral lobules truncate, sparsely toothed, the median small, triangular; column-foot ligulate, 0.6 cm long. Anther rounded-cucullate, glabrous, in front truncate.

Epiphyte in lowland forest. Altitude 40-150 m.

New Guinea (endemic).
