Type: Gjellerup 1052 (holo BO, iso L).

Stems crowded, unbranched, upper part flexuose, 31 cm long, internodes to 2 cm long. Leaf sheaths verruculose. Leaves patent, ovate-lanceolate, 3.2-6.3 by 0.9-1.8 cm, coriaceous, margins near the apex minutely denticulate-fimbriate, apex acute, with a very long filiform-subulate apicule. Inflorescences lateral from defoliated stems, racemose, 0.5-0.9 cm long, subsessile, 7-11-flowered. Floral bracts ovate, 0.65 by 0.4 cm, apex acuminate, outside verruculose. Pedicel 0.5 cm long; ovary 1.3 cm long, curved, obtusely triangular in cross-section, with the pedicel sigmoid. Flowers 2.2 cm long. Dorsal sepal 0.87 cm by 5.3 mm; mentum conical, 1.25 cm long. Petals 0.8 cm by 4.5 mm, margins near apex minutely erose. Lip much shorter than the column, when flattened 1.3 by 0.8 cm, apex cucullate, subtrilobulate, in the middle serrate, laterally minutely denticulate. Column 0.28 cm long; column-foot 1.25 cm long, apical part channelled, covered with a membrane, except at the very apex.

Flowers violet, lip white. Leaves opaque dark bluish green.

Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 1900 m.

New Guinea (endemic).

Cool growing epiphyte.

Dendrobium glaucoviride should be compared with Dendrobium cuculliferum and Dendrobium tubiflorum.
