Type: Sands (Sands, Pattison & Wood) 2153 (holo K)

Epiphyte. Pseudobulbs ovoid, cylindrical, 2.2-2.8 by 1-1.2 cm, when young surrounded by a pale brown, scarious sheath; 1-leaved. Leaves narrowly oblong-elliptic, obtuse, acuminate; petiole 1.5-2 cm long; blade 18-19 by 3-4 cm. Inflorescence 1-flowered, porrect, 0.4 cm long. Floral bract amplexicaul, ovate, acute, scarious, 0.7 cm long. Median sepal narrowly elliptic, acute, porrect, 1.1 by 0.5 cm. Lateral sepals obliquely-oblong, distally deflected, 1.3 by 0.6 cm. Petals obliquely linear-liguliform, acute, 0.35 by 0.08 cm. Lip entire, ovate, obtuse, concave, fleshy, decurved, 0.3 by 0.2 cm. Column fleshy, 0.1 by 0.1 cm; stelidia subulate, porrect, 0.1 cm long; column-foot 0.3 cm long. Anther cucullate, 0.1 cm long; pollinia ovoid, 0.05 cm long. Leaf above dark green, below paler green. Flowers faintly sweet-scented. Median sepal creamy-white, inside faintly spotted maroon. Lateral sepals creamy-white, to the base with maroon blotches, to the apex with maroon spots. Petals whitish, without spots. Lip creamy-white, the inner surface with irregular maroon markings, paler to the apex. Anther white.

Epiphyte in lower montane forest.
