Leaves linear-lanceolate, apex emarginate. Petals very narrow. Mentum short, straight, obtuse. Lateral lobes of the lip subulate, midlobe concave, subtruncate. Ovary hairy.

Dendrobium simile (Blume) J.J.Sm. is only known from Blume's very sketchy description, from which it cannot be recognised. It is undoubtedly related to Dendrobium umbellatum (Gaudich.) Rchb.f., but unless a type specimen can be found this is all that can be stated about this speecies.
