Basionym: Phreatia globulosa

Plant very small, rhizome slender. Pseudobulbs 2 cm apart, inconspicuous, with 2-3 tubular, apiculate, at the base dilated, 3 mm long sheaths. Leaf and inflorescence [at base] enclosed in the sheath, oblanceolate, obtuse, minutely mucronate, 3-5 by 0.7 cm. Inflorescence 3 cm long, slender, sharply flexuose; peduncle 1 cm long; rachis 21-flowered. Floral bracts ovate, acuminate, clasping the rachis, longer than the 1 mm long ovary and pedicel. Flowers minute, globose. Median sepal lanceolate, boat-shaped, at the apex with a blackish globose knob. Lateral sepals ovate, at the apex with a cylindrical appendage; mentum short. Petals minute, ovate, obtuse. Lip hastate, obtuse. Column straight, broad, in front broadly concave, margins of the clinandrium raised. (After Ridley, 1916)
