(after Blume).

Flower white.

Not known, probably in the lowlands.

New Guinea (endemic).

Papua.

Not known.

Dendrobium heteroideum Blume is only known from Blume's almost worthless description and the crude illustration in Rumphia, from which it cannot be identified. The illustration suggests Dendrobium rumphiae Rchb.f., but the description (terete stems, indistinctly lobed lip) does not agree with this interpretation. Moreover, the leaf-size as given by Blume is incompatible with the drawing, which shows much longer and relatively narrower leaves.
