Terrestrial, very small, 3-4 cm high. Roots filiform, elongated, flexuose, puberulous. Leaf ovate, acuminate, deeply cordate, glabrous, 1.5-2.5 cm long, below the middle 0.7-1.5 cm broad. Flower subsessile, erect. Floral bracts lanceolate-subulate, more than twice as long as the ovary. Median sepal at base shortly clawed, obovate-spathulate, obtuse, dorsally with thickened mid-vein, about 2 cm long. Lateral sepals decurved, linear-subulate, sharply acute, glabrous, about 2 cm long. Petals as long as and similar to the lateral sepals, ascending. Lip above the cucullate base expanded into a large, glabrous, suborbicular, apiculate blade with minutely and densely serrulate margins, with two small swellings next to the opening of the throat, in the middle towards the opening of the throat with a distinct groove, with short, conical, falcate, diverging, narrowly obtuse spurs. Column short, somewhat thickened glabrous. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, 0.3 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914, as Corysanthes torricellensis Schltr.).
Leaves dark red. Flower whitish, median sepal tinged red, lip with beautiful blackish brown markings.
Terrestrial between moss lower montane forest. Altitude 800 m.
Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
Warm-intermediate growing terrestrial, keep in shade.
