Terrestrial herb, 5 cm tall. Tuber ovoid or subglobose, very small. Stem short, 2.75 cm long, slender, glabrous, base sheathed, apex 1-leaved. Leaf ovate, 1.5-2 by 1-1.5 cm, acuminate, base deeply cordate, glabrous, horizontally spreading. Floral bract linear-lanceolate, acute, equalling or little exceeding the ovary. Flower fairly large, erect, 2 cm long, glabrous. Median sepal obovate-spathulate, to 2 cm long, shortly acuminate, upper half hooded-concave. Lateral sepals porrect, narrowly linear, 1.3 cm long, sharply acute. Petals minute, linear-lanceolate, about 0.3 cm long, sharply acute, porrect-decurved. Lip hood-like, shorter than the median sepal, at the base narrowed, shortly 2-spurred, blade in front reniform, 1 cm wide, emarginate, curved outwards, margin pectinate-serrate, above the middle with an oblongoid, cucullate-incurved, obtuse callus. Leaf reddish green, below blue-reddish. Flower white with carmine-red stripes, lip carmine-red.
Terrestrial in lower montane forest. Altitude 1400-1500 m.
Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
Intermediate growing terrestrial, keep in shade.
