Synonyms:
Epiphyte with pendulous, stem-like rhizome to 30 cm long. Roots filiform, glabrous. Pseudobulbs crowded, appressed to the rhizome, elliptic, strongly depressed, 0.35-0.45 by 0.2-0.3 cm; 1-leaved. Leaf erect-patent, broadly ovate or ovate, apiculate, 0.6-1.5 by 0.5-0.8 cm below the middle; base subcordate. Inflorescence 1-flowered, very short, almost absent, with acuminate, inconspicuous peduncle-scales. Floral bracts cucullate, acuminate, almost as long as the ovary. Flower erect-patent. Sepals oblong, somewhat narrowed to the apex, obtuse, 0.3 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, lower margin minutely papillose-finely ciliate. Petals obliquely oblong, long cuspidate, 0.25 cm long; the margins in the middle finely ciliate. Lip rhombic, to the apex abruptly attenuate, 0.28 cm long; base shortly clawed; above the base on upper side with a very small callus; in apical half with recurved margins, with short fringing hairs, to the apex with glanduliferous fringing hairs; apex oblongoid-thickened, obtuse. Column short; stelidia falcate-ligulate, shortly acuminate; column-foot short, straight. Anther helmet shaped-cucullate, glabrous. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, 0.08 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1913)
Flower carmine-red, whitish to the base.
Epiphyte in lower montane forest; 700 m.
Malesia (New Guinea).
