Type: Armit. s.n. (1883, S. New Guinea, base of Astrolabe Mts.) (holo B, lost)
Synonyms:
Leaves to 36 cm long, 7 cm wide, lanceolate, petiolate. Scape very slender, to 50 cm high, pubescent, with a few scales. Flowers 1.6 cm across, in a few-flowered, dense raceme. Floral bracts not deflexed, ovate, sharply acute. Sepals and petals similar, oblong. Lip 3-lobed, lateral lobes cuneate or obovate, in front retuse-rounded; mid-lobe bilobulate, the lobules a little smaller than the lateral lobes, falcate, margins slightly wavy, obtuse; on the disc with two rows of papillae merging towards the base into two lamellae, on either side with a smaller papilla. Spur twice as long as the lip. (After Kraenzlin, 1893).
Note: Insufficiently known; possibly an earlier name for Calanthe micrantha Schltr.
