Roots elongated. Stems erect to suberect, slender, not or sparsely branching, 20-45 cm long, many-leaved. Leaves obliquely oblong-lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, 1.5-3 by 0.2-0.9 cm, apex with a long bristle-like mucro. Inflorescences terminal, racemose, suberect-patent, to 12 cm long, laxely several-flowered. Floral bracts reflexed, oblong-lanceolate, much shorter than the ovary, apex narrowly obtuse. Flowers c. 0.2 cm long. Dorsal sepal ovate, 0.2 cm long, apex shortly acuminate. Lateral sepals cohering, slightly obliquely ovate, 0.2 cm long, apex shortly acuminate; mentum absent. Petals obliquely oblong, shorter than the dorsal sepal, apex obtuse. Lip ovate-oblong, c. 0.2 cm long, base cuneate, apex shortly obtusely acuminate. Column very short, in front with a lateral, tooth-like, obtuse lobule, dorsally on either side of the rostellum with a small obtuse lobule, rostellum more than twice as long as these lobules, triangular, emarginate; column-foot absent. Anther cordate, dorsally thickened, apex acuminate. Pollinia 6, clavate, caudicles absent, viscidium oblong. Fruit fusiform, 0.8 by 0.15 cm. (After Schlechter, 1905, as Lobogyne papuana Schltr.).

Epiphyte in hill and lower montane forest. Altitude 500-1000 m.
Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
Warm to intermediate growing epiphyte, keep in shade.
