Type: Gilli 468 (holo W)

Epiphytic, erect or hanging down, to 30 cm long. Rhizome short. Roots elongated, flexuose. Stems compressed, densely 3-8-leaved, entirely covered with the clasping leaf-sheaths. Leaves erect-patent or erect; blade narrowly lanceolate, 6-17 by 0.4-0.6 cm, narrowed into a 0.54 cm long petiole; sheaths tightly clasping with truncate apex. Floral head many-flowered, semiglobose, erect, 2-2.5 cm diam., covered with several sheaths that eventually become lacerate, peduncles short, covered with small scales. Flowers 1.5 cm long. Sepals semitransparent, acute. Median sepal broadly elliptic. Lateral sepals obliquely elliptic. Petals narrowly lanceolate, curved, acute, almost falcate, a little shorter than the sepals. Lip very broad, bilobed, lateral margins dentate. (After Gilli, 1983).

Epiphyte in upper montane forest. Altitude 2650-2950 m.

Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
