Almost shrub-like, very small, ascending, to 12 cm high, scarcely branched. Stems and branches densely leafy, entirely covered with the short, striate, very tightly clasping leaf-sheaths. Leaves erect-patent, narrowly linear, 1.6-3 by 0.3 cm, acute, base attenuate, margins incurved, rigid. Spathe elliptic-cucullate, short, shortly acuminate. Flowers patent, single, glabrous. Sepals oblong, 1 cm long, subacute, somewhat concave, lateral sepals oblique. Petals obliquely ligulate, subacute, almost as long as the sepals. Lip boat-shaped, narrowly oblong, 0.8 cm long, at the base 0.2 cm wide, in the upper half 0.35 cm wide, subacute, slightly, constricted in the middle, margins towards the apex somewhat dilated, glabrous. Column clavate, 0.65 cm long, semiterete, apex widened, slightly surpassing the basal half of the lip, clinandrium dorsally deeply bilobed, lobes with truncate, dentate apices. Ovary triangular, 0.4 cm long, sessile, glabrous, shiny. (After Schlechter, 1922).


Flowers greenish with a few brownish lines.

Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 1400-1500 m.

Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
