Type: Schlechter 14085 (holo B, lost)

Epiphytic, erect, several-stemmed, 10-18 cm high; roots filiform, elongated, flexuose, glabrous. Stems flexuose, laxly 6-8-leaved, entirely covered with the ancipitous leaf-sheaths. Leaves erect-patent, linear or linear-lanceolate, sharply acute or acuminate, more or less falcate, sheathing at the base, 3-9 cm long, near the middle 0.4-0.6 cm wide. Inflorescence cylindrical, densely many-flowered, not surpassing the upper leaf, 2.7-3.5 cm long, 0.6 cm diam. across the flowers. Floral bracts lanceolate, acuminate, patent, shorter than the ovary. Flowers patent. Sepals ovate-oblong, subobtuse, 0.15 cm long. Lateral sepals somewhat oblique. Petals oblong, obtuse, somewhat smaller than the sepals. Lip at the base dilated, towards the apex linear-narrowed, apex prolonged into two flexuose, erect-patent tails, 0.2 cm long. Column very short thick. Anther rounded. (After Schlechter, 1905)

Epiphyte in lowland and lower montane forest, often along streams; 75 to 1350 m.

Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
