Synonyms:
Stems close together, pendent, laterally compressed, 6.5 cm long, c. 7-leaved. Leaves erect-patent, overlapping, gradually very sharply acuminate, falcate-incurved, somewhat fleshy, not shiny, the middle ones longest, to 7 by 0.6 cm; sheath somewhat narrower. Inflorescence shortly pedunculate, cylindrical, densely many-flowered, more laxly flowered at the apex, 5.5 cm long, 0.8 cm diam. across the flowers; rachis ribbed, especially on the ribs muriculate-puberulous. Bracts appressed, lanceolate, narrowed towards the apex, acute, irregularly lacinulate, 0.25 by 0.06 cm. Flowers 0.34 cm wide. Median sepal ovate-oblong, acute or obtuse, 0.18 by 0.1 cm. Lateral sepals obliquely ovate, acute or subacute, 0.18 by 0.13 cm. Petals cuneate-rhombic-obovate, broadly obtuse, coarsely erose-dentate except for the basal part, 0.18 by 0.13 cm. Lip narrowly oblong, at the base shortly rounded, almost with two auricles; apex split into two lanceolate-triangular, somewhat falcate, acute, 0.06 cm long lobules with erose outer margins, between the lobules with a short, triangular, obtuse tooth; lip at the base somewhat concave, in the middle swollen and shiny, in total 0.23 by 0.08 cm. Column very short, clinandrium rather large. Anther ovate, acuminate, 0.03 cm long. Pollinia 4, oblong-pyriform. Ovary pedicellate, puberulous, 0.17 cm long. (After Smith, 1909)
Leaves green. Rachis pale brownish-green. Flowers pale greenish brown. Sepals brownish, apex greenish. Lip brown, with greenish margins. Column green. Anther pale green. Pollinia orange. Ovary brownish.
Epiphyte in lowland and lower montane forest; 20 to 800 m.
Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
Warm to intermediate growing epiphyte.
