Leaves 5—6; petiole erect, 0.6—1.2 cm long; leaf sheath 0.4—0.8 cm long; leaf blade oblique, ovate to oblong-ovate, attenuate, 3 6 by 2—5 cm, its apex acute, 3-nerved. Inflorescence 20—22 cm long; raceme rather dense, slender. Sterile bract usually 1, lanceolate; apex acuminate; 1-nerved. Floral bracts recurved, lanceolate; apex acuminate; 1-nerved. Flowers c. 0.4 by 0.35—0.4 cm wide. Median sepal ovate to oblong-ovate, 0.2—0.22cm long, 0.09—0.11 cm; apex acute. Petals linear, 0.15—0.17cm long, c. 0.05cm; apex obtuse to retuse, usually bent backwards. Lip sagittate to nearly trapezoid, 0.2—0.22 by c. 0.2 cm; lamina semi-orbicular in distal part, obtuse at top, lamellae simple, parallel, area between the lamellae narrow and flat; auricles erect or slightly reflexed, subparallel, elongate, obliquely oblanceolate, subacute at the apex. Gynostemium distinctly recurved, 0.1—0.12 by 0.04—0.05 cm, at apical part dark-green, about halfway with an erect, broad, cone-like appendage with obtuse top; staminodes folded back from anther, oblong, 0.04—0.06 by 0.025—0.032 cm, with obliquely truncate apex. Leaf sheath green; blade above shiny green, paler, below grey-green. Flower, pale blackish-brown. Lip laminae darker coloured, particularly at distal margins. Column pale greenish-yellow, apical part dark-green; staminodes darker coloured. Anther pale greenish yellow to pale green; top erect, greenish to dark-green.

Terrestrial in monsoon forest, growing in humus covered by a layer of leaf litter. Altitude 50-600 m.
Malesia (New Guinea, endemic).
Warm growing terrestrial, requires shaded position.

Crepidium macrotis is similar to Crepidium laevis in habit, but closer to P. umbonata in morphology of the flower (Schlechter 1914). The leaves of Crepidium macrotis are broad, ovate. The lateral sepals are oblong-ovate, slightly obcordate base, with obtuse apex. The petals are linear. The gynostemium appendage is short and cone-like.
