Epiphytic, caespitose, erect, 34-40 cm high. Rhizome very short; roots filiform, flexuose, later becoming glabrous. Pseudobulbs slender, terete, stalk-like, 8-10 cm long, c. 0.4 cm diam., 1-leaved. Leaf suberect, linear-lanceolate, acuminate, narrowed towards the base, veined, thin-textured, 20-30 cm long, near the middle 2.5-3.5 cm wide; rachis laxly many-flowered; usually somewhat surpassing the leaves. Floral bracts ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, patent, usually a little shorter than, or sometimes as long as, the pedicellate, ovary. Median sepal reflexed, narrowly oblong-ligulate, obtuse, 0.8 cm long, near the middle 0.2 cm wide. Lateral sepals deflexed, obliquely oblong-ligulate, as long as the median sepal but a little broader. Petals deflexed, narrowly linear, slightly longer than the sepals. Lip in outline panduriform, at the base suberect, abruptly geniculate-abruptly curved backwards, when flattened a little longer than the sepals, at the base concave with an obovoid callus, in apical half 0.25 cm wide, apical part ovate, acute or acuminate. Column slender, somewhat incurved, somewhat terete, narrowed in the middle, somewhat widened at the apex. Anther rounded, in front subacute. Ovary slender, subcylindrical. (After Schlechter, 1905)


Sepals and petals of a pale colour [not recorded], lip brownish.

Epiphyte on thick tree trunks in montane forest, also terrestrial; 800 to 1850 m.
