Epiphytic, erect, 40-60 cm high. Rhizome very short; roots filiform, elongated, flexuose, puberulous. Pseudobulbs slender, at the base covered with a few large, conduplicate, acute, up to 14 cm long, white sheaths, subterete, veined, a little dilated towards the base, to 0.5 cm diam., 10-15 cm long, 1-leaved. Leaf erect or suberect, linear-lanceolate, acute, somewhat narrowed towards the base, several-veined, 30-45 cm long, near the middle 2-3 cm wide. Inflorescence terminal; peduncle straight or nearly so, erect, angular, glabrous, with a few small bract-like scales, 10-15 cm long; rachis rather densely many-flowered, cylindrical, up to 15 cm long, c. 2.4 cm diam. across the flowers. Floral bracts erect-patent, lanceolate, acuminate, usually more or less shorter than the ovary. Flowers erect-patent. Sepals reflexed, oblong-ligulate, obtuse, glabrous. Median sepal 0.65 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, a little shorter. Petals reflexed, narrowly linear, obtuse, glabrous, as long as the median sepal, oblique. Lip 0.65 cm long, below the middle of the blade 0.65 cm wide, at the base almost clawed, flabellate-subquadrate, glabrous, margins minutely subcrenulate, at the base with a short, low, transverse callus, apex shallowly notched. Column short, glabrous, at the base somewhat dilated, almost 0.3 cm long. Ovary and pedicel slender, glabrous, c. 1 cm long. (After Schlechter, 1911-1914)


Flowers yellowish, lip light brown.

Epiphyte on logs and tree trunks in lower montane forest, growing in shaded positions; 1100 m.
