Epiphytic. Rhizome long creeping, covered with large, broad, conduplicate, acuminate, sharply keeled, membranous sheaths, the upper one to 2.5-3 cm long, entirely clasping the pseudobulbs, the lower sheath smaller. Pseudobulbs 0.5-2 cm apart, very small, compressed, 0.7-1 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, 1-leaved. Leaf erect, lanceolate, shortly acuminate, acute, mucronate, at the base long petiolate-narrowed and conduplicate, sharply keeled, 7.5-17 cm long, 2-3 cm wide. Inflorescence erect, shorter than the leaf, laxly 2-3 flowered; spathe conduplicate, acutely acuminate, keeled, 2-3 cm long; peduncle angular, 3.5-4 cm long; rachis short, flexuose. Floral bracts ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, concave, 0.7-0.75 cm long. Flowers rather large, with reflexed sepals and petals. Median sepal lanceolate, subacute, margins revolute, 3-nerved, 1.2 cm long, 0.28 cm wide. Lateral sepals lanceolate, acute, with revolute margins, dorsally keeled near the apex, 3-nerved, 1.13 cm long, 0.33 cm wide. Petals linear, acute, strongly convex, 1-nerved, 1 cm long, almost 0.1 cm wide. Lip shortly clawed, when flattened 1.13 cm long, 1.3 cm wide; claw parallel with the column, concave, with a minute transverse callus; blade recurved, transversely elliptic, somewhat narrowed towards the apex, emarginate with a triangular tooth in the sinus, crenulate, on either side of the small longitudinal channel convex. Column short, 0.4 cm long, curved, at the base strongly thickened; stigma transversely elliptic, on either side of the stigma with a minute triangular wing; clinandrium concave. Anther cucullate, ovate-round, obtuse. Ovary 0.5 cm long; pedicel slender, 1.5 cm long. (After Smith, 1909)
