In Dendrobium sect Cadetia subsect. Pterocadetia the species Dendrobium danipense, Cadetia subfalcata and Cadetia takadui are quite similar in their flowers. They differ that in Dendrobium subfalcatum J.J.Sm. the mentum is relatively short, the hypochile inside has longitudinal hairy bands and the epichile has in the basal part 5 short thick keels, in Dendrobium danipense the mentum is relatively short, the hypochile inside and the base of the epichile are minutely hairy and the epichile has no keels, and in Dendrobium takadui the mentum is relatively long and acute, the hypochile is inside glabrous and has two short parallel lamellae, and the epichile has no keels
