Synonyms:
Epiphytic or lithophytic herb. Rhizome short, to 0.25 cm in diameter, ligneous. Roots terete, fleshy, elongate, to 0.25 cm in diameter. Stems erect, subterete, 17—35 by 0.10—0.18 cm, laxly leafy. Leaves erect to nearly appressed to stem, linear-lanceolate, 1.2—4 by 0.13—0.38 cm, stiffly fleshy; sheaths more or less truncate opposite leaf axil, tubular, 0.8—2.9 cm long, in its lower half generally smooth, its upper half finely striate and finely transversely rugulose; apex unequally bidentate; upper surface transversely finely rugulose (artifact?), lower surface smooth. Inflorescence 1- flowered; peduncle very short. Flowers hardly opening, self-pollinating. Pedicel and ovary gently curved, clavate, c. 0.25 by 0.2 cm. Median sepal ovate-lanceolate, 0.78 by 0.3 cm; apex acute; 5-nerved, outer nerves basally branched giving the appearance of 7 nerves. Lateral sepals broadly ovate, c. 0.8 by 0.6 cm; apex acute; 5-nerved; mentum 0.45 cm long. Petals obliquely oblanceolate, 0.72 by 0.19 cm, thin; apex acute; 3- nerved. Lip oblong-elliptic, in upper half 0.3 cm wide, 0.83 by 0.3.5 cm, membranous; apex acute; without callus; 5-nerved. Column short and broad, 0.2 cm long; anthers 3, arranged in a transverse line at apex of column.

Stems yellowish brown. Leaves mid green. Flowers orange tipped red, or yellow with ‘throat’ red inside.
Lower montane forest. Altitude: 1900—2400 m.
