Type: Bandish s.n. (holo AMES)

Epiphyte. Rhizome creeping. Pseudobulbs subglobose, rugose, 1.5 cm apart, 2.5 cm high, 2 cm diam. Leaves oblongobtuse, subsessile, to 17 cm long, 4 cm wide; inflorescence very short, 2-flowered; peduncle c. 2 cm long. Floral bracts overlapping, ovatecucullate, shorter than the pedicellate ovary. Flowers very fleshy, not widely opening. Median sepal suborbicular, cucullate, apiculate, 2.5 by 1.7 cm. Lateral sepals similar to the median sepal but oblique, 23 by 15 mm, at the base free, in apical 2/3 connate, apex short-apiculate. Petals obliquely spathulate2 by1.3 cm, acute, margins in apical part crispateLip triangularcordate, 1.2 cm long, acute, with two undulating keels over much of its length, in the middle irregularly papillose-warty. Column thick, 5 mm long; stelidia triangular; column-foot elongated, incurved. Pedicellate ovary cylindrical, 1.5 cm long. (After Garay et al., 1996 )


Flower whitish green, marbled with maroon to red-purple. Lip orange in the centre.

Lithophyte on limestone cliffs above a lake; also on limestone in grassland; 820 m.
