Genus Liparis section Hologlossum

Usually epiphytes. Leaves not plicate, more or less leathery, duplicate, articulated with the sheath or pseudobulb, leaving a clean scar when falling off. Inflorescence terminal. Peduncle strongly flattened and winged, or terete. Floral bracts not distichous, usually not closely spaced. Flowers several to many opening at the same time, gradually more opening. Lip abruptly bent downwards near the middle; base not lobed; apex entire, rounded to acute.
